Ένα ελληνικό σχολείο σε κάθε ενορία
Raise funds so Greek Orthodox churches can offer bilingual Greek language and heritage classes to every child in the area, including English-speaking kids.
A Greek school at every Greek church, for every child in the neighborhood, carrying our language and history a hundred years forward.
We publish books. Our proceeds fund a parish Greek school, then the next one, one church at a time.
Greek history is the foundation of our Greek-American homes. Yet in many families, the Greek language fades within a generation or two. We want our children to keep speaking Greek, to know our history and culture, and to carry their faith and φιλότιμο into their future as an anchor for life. A strong Greek school helps every home become a center of faith and culture, and strong homes make a strong parish.
Every dollar Hellenic Peace earns from Almost Legends goes to Greek language and heritage education — 100% of the Amazon proceeds received fund the Greek school teacher at Saints Mary Magdalene & Markella Greek Orthodox Church in Darlington, Maryland, first, and then the next parish, one church at a time. Every monthly proceeds report is reviewed by Hellenic Peace's CFO, Dean Hadjis of Watchtower Business Services in Harford County.
Almost Legends follows two Greek-American sisters, Athena and Rhea, through the real myths of the world on a quest to save seven golden Threads of light — Courage, Kindness, Wisdom, Truth, Hope, Joy and Love.

Athena thinks three steps ahead. Rhea never, ever backs down. When the Unraveler cuts the seven golden Threads that hold the world's light together, a golden owl named Glaux asks the sisters for help — from the streets of Rome to the beaches of Iceland and the ruins of Delphi. Inside: real myths from Greece, Italy and Iceland, Dad's Greek sayings with pronunciation, and the Sibling Promise to read together.

This time the villain doesn't send a monster. He sends a Whisper. On the last day before Christmas break, from the frozen lakes of Ireland to a snowy cave in Japan, the sisters need a knight's move, a song, Mom's pocket mirror and every deposit they've ever made in the Bank of Friendship. The journey ends with a Greek Christmas: kalanta, the karavaki, and a gentle lesson in forgiveness.

Mrs. Eirini Anastasiou · Κυρία Ειρήνη Αναστασίου
Kyria Eirini taught so many children in our community their first Greek words. She passed away on September 30, 2026. Everything Hellenic Peace does is in her honor.
Αιωνία η μνήμη
One church at a time.
Many of our children grow up in Greek and American families. We want them to keep speaking Greek and to know our history and culture, never feeling they must leave their heritage behind. The parish Greek school is where it continues — open to every child in the neighborhood.
Would your parish like to help bring a Greek school to every church? Here's how:
